On February 24, Emma Stone attended the 91st Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles. She was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Favourite. Unfortunately, The Favourite didn’t bring any award home but Olivia Colman won Best Leading Actress for her outstanding performance in the film. Emma was very touched by her win. Emma Stone Stars as a Suburban Dog Lady, Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos in the new issue of W Magazine.
Emma Stone, who approached her character for the shoot seen here with a terrific sense of commitment. The dog family had sprung to life from the imagination of Yorgos Lanthimos, the director of The Favourite, which is nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including best director. (Stone, one of the stars in the film, is nominated for best supporting actress.) “First, we considered spotlighting a woman who loved stuffed animals,” Lanthimos said as he watched Stone trying to wrangle the pack. “I discussed it with Emma. Since she loves dogs a lot, we went from stuffed animals to real, deep animal love: 15 actual dogs.”

Emma Stone is joining the board of the Child Mind Institute. She shared a statement to People Magazine :
I’m honored to join the board of the Child Mind Institute,” Stone said in a statement to PEOPLE. “This is a stigma-shattering organization I am deeply passionate about, and I’m looking forward to helping the Child Mind Institute continue to advance its critically important work.
Acting, along with therapy, became the primary way that Stone was able to cope and conquer her anxiety. And since garnering fame for her roles in Easy A, La La Land and now The Favourite, Stone has used her own experience to raise awareness for mental health disorders. Now, the Academy Award-winning actress, 30, plans to continue helping other kids struggling with mental health and learning disorders by joining the Board of Directors at the Child Mind Institute — a nonprofit organization dedicated to doing just that.
